Abstrakt     Since the first outbreaks of very virulent infectious bursal disease vaccination against IBD became very difficult. The study was done to compare the efficacy of three vaccination programmes using two live attenuted vaccines which are avaliable in Slovenia in commercial broiler farms contaminated with IBDV. The vaccination trials have showen that timing of vaccination in regard to the level of maternal derived antiboides is very important. The results of the programme 1 when mild strain was used on 8th day, indicate that the vaccination was done too early and than the vaccinate strain was not able to break the maternal immunity. Better results - lower mortality rate and less frequency of IBD outbreak were observed when intermediate vaccine strain was administred twice on the 15th and 22nd day (programme 3). On the bases of the results of the trials it can be concluded that insituation of high infection pressure vaccination with mild or intermediate vaccine can not fully prevent birds against the infection with very virulent IBDV.
