Abstrakt     Phacoemulsification is the method of choice for cataract extraction. It may be, however, difficult to perform the procedure in the eyes with small pupils. Here, four techniques are presented by which cataract removal may be safely performed with minimum trauma to the iris in eyes with synechiae due to pilocarpine or uveitis.
