Abstrakt | Light-activated polymerization of dental composites should be considered as a significant progress in comparison with classical chemical polymerization. Beside the absence of water and its harmful effect on polymerization, a much longer working time makes this type of setting reaction user friendly. The basic reaction in dental composite polymerization is free radical recombination. EPR measurments of free radicals concentration show, that the illumination times which are recommended by the producers are not long enough. According to the results of the study at least 1 minute long light-activating times are recommended to polymerize less than 1 mm thick composite layers. | |
