Abstrakt | Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), like other aminopolycarboxylic acids, forms stabile water-soluble chelates with di- and trivalent metal ions. EDTA is practically insoluble in water. So its in water freely soluble disodium salt is used as an antioxidant in pharmaceutical and cosmetic preparations and as an anticoagulant in haematological investigations. It is also administered intravenously in the emergency treatment of hypercalcaemia and lead poisoning. EDTA enchances the antimicrobical efficacy of some antiseptics and antibiotics. For the identification of EDTA were used IR-spectroscopic method, melting point and some complexometric-precipitation methods of analysis. As a means of synthesis of EDTA, impurities like cyanide and nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) were determined. Amount of EDTA in sample may be determined by titration with standardized solution of lead ions. | |
Izvleček | Kot ostale aminopolikarboksilne kisline, tvori etilendiamintetraocetna kislina (EDTA) z dvo- ali trovalentnimi kovinskimi ioni stabilne, vodotopne kelate. EDTA je v vodi skoraj netopna. Zato uporabljamo njeno v vodi dobro topno dinatrijevo sol kot antioksidant v farmacevtskih in kozmetičnih izdelkih in kot antikoagulant pri hematoloških preiskavah. Uporabljamo jo tudi intravensko za zdravljenje hudih hiperkalciemij in zastrupitev s svincem. EDTA okrepi antimikrobno delovanje nekaterih antiseptikov in antibiotikov. Pri identifikaciji EDTA smo uporabili IR-spektroskopsko metodo, tališče in obarjalno-kompleksometrični analitični metodi. Glede na sitenzo EDTA smo obravnavali cianid in nitrilotriocetno kislino (NTA) kot nečistoti. Vsebnost EDTA v vzorcu lahko določimo s titracijo s standardno raztopino svinčenih ionov. | |
