Abstrakt		Malocclusions are the frequent problem in contemporary veterinary dentistry. A relationship between oral anatomic form and physiologic functionis apparent in all animals. In some species, humans have selectively bred animals in ways that have distorted the natural occlusion for that species; this is most dramatically true of the dog and cat. Attempts to correct malaligned teeth in animals have been made by owners and breeders of animals since many decades ago. Only in the last 30 years have veterinarians and dentists begun to use orthodontic appliances and surgery to corect malocclusions in companion animals. Crowded, malaligned teeth and jaw size discrepancies are the most common malocclusions seen in dogs and cats. The goal of canine andfeline orthodontics is to relieve soft tissue or hard tissue trauma resulting from malocclusion, while remaining aware of restrictions imposed by ethical and legal issues. Specific limitations must be addressed in veterinary orthodontics. In the present article we observed only the malocclusions which are the consequences of retained deciduous teeth.
