Abstrakt		In 1949 Ljubljana formed a zoo in the very city center that in its first form had freely living creatures. In 1951 it moved to southwestern Rožnik by Večna pot Str. with an area of 18 ha. After 1988 the Ljubljana Zoo has developed into a modern zoo fulfilling its mission and its always more numerous assignments.
