Abstrakt		Slovenian lakes are ecologically and economically very interesting. They are a potential source of drinking water, for agriculture, industry, source of energy, food, they are interesting for tourism. We have to establish a good lake management program in Slovenia which will include a monitoring program, too. We are introducing four foreign lakes monitoring programs in this report. We prepared two monitoring proposals for Slovenian lakes, too. They include foreign and our own experiences, regulations, geographical and limnological properties. The first proposal of monitoring program is built on the basis of lake uses. The second proposal is general for all lakes. The results of monitoring program could be used in lake management and ILEC Lake Model software.
