Abstrakt		During 1997 limnological research on Šmartinsko jezero has been carried out. Basic variables like temperature, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, chlorophil a and phytoplankton has been measured in order to evaluate eutrophic processes and pollution degree of the lake. Results show that lake is in eutrophic status. High accumulation of nutrients in sediments were determined. Among allochtonous sources of nutrients sewage from villages on watershed area and polluted tributaries are prevailing. Most efficient co-natural measures for sanation were suggested.
