Abstrakt     Dimensonal complexity measurement can provide useful information for localizing pathological brain function which may be superior to that yeilded by conventional electrophysiological methods. Unilateral destruction of the hippocampus, amygdala, some of the basal ganglia and temporopolar cortex without the involvement of the temporoparietal junction is sufficient to cause ipsilateral disappearence of the P3 ERP component. The dissociation of the mismatch-negative ERP component to various stimulus types suggests different areas being active in tone and speech sound processing.
