Abstrakt		The safety of the human population is the main goal of standards dealing with exposure to electromagnetic fields and radiation. Recommended limit values for electric and magnetic field are divided into recommendations for workers and general public and further on depend upon the tpyte of environment and time of exposure. Several widely accepted standards define recommended limit values for electric and magnetic field strenght which differ by the order of magnitude. Here we present the derived potentially hazardous areas around common field sources according to various recommended limit values and reference levels of 50 Hz electric and magnetic field.
