Abstrakt		C. perfringens type C toxin beta is known to be toxic for some of domestic animals as well as for man. The toxin was isolated from the culture medium supernatant using one step immunoaffinity chromatography on antitoxin-Sepharose-4B. The presence of the toxin in the isolated fractions was determined using ELISA and biological assay on mice. The purity and the molecular weight of the fraction obtained was studied by SDS-PAGE and Western blot analysis. Since the mechanism of the toxin action in vivo is still poorly understood its effect on cardiovascular system of rats was studied. Soon after i.v. injection of sublethal dose of the toxin transient increase in arterial blood pressure, accompanied by a mild tachardia was recorded for 6-8 min.
