Abstrakt     IgA nephropathy (IgA N0 is the most common type of glomerulonephritis and may lead to renal failure in 10-20% cases. After renal transplantation, IgA N has the strong tendency to recur in the graft, and recurrence of IgA N is becoming very important as a cause of progressive allograft dysfunction and allograft loss. In the period from February 1981 to May 1998, 30 patients with biopsy proven IgA N, had received a renal allograft. They have been followed on average for 75,1 months. IgA recurred in 7 allografts, on average 41,1 months (range 4 - 144,5) after transplantation, in 5 living and 2 cadaveric grafst. The incidence of recurrent IgA in the present study is 23,3%. Living-related donor transplants and the presence of post-transplant erythrocytosis seem to be associated with a higher rate of recurrence. Recurrence of IgA N did not influence allograft function.
