Abstrakt     Aspergillosis (Asp) developed in 7 (1.98%) patients (patients), 6 male and 1 female, among 354 kidney transplant recipients in the period from 1970 to 1998. Localised forms of Asp, such as lung aspergilloma, prostatic and cutaneous Asp, were found in three still alive patients. Systemic angioinvasive Asp with central nervous system involvement was discovered in four patients, and in 2 of them, Asp was detected prior to death. Multiple simultaneous infections were found in 3 patients. The dose and duration of immunosuppressive treatment, acute cellular rejections of the graft, and/or multiple viral and/or bacterial infections, are some of predisposing factors for development of Asp. Neutropenia, high levels of serum creatinin - etc., may also aggravate, complicate, and mislead diagnostic provedures, interpretations of their results, an even therapy.
