Abstrakt		The authors investigated the electrophoretic activity of the ionic toothbrush. They measured the current passing through the mouth when the toothbrush was in action and the change in bacterial concentration on the surface of the teeth. The current did not exceed 40-60 micro A, and the change in bacterial concentration was less than 0.2%, which is practically negligible. In order to achieve a substantial reduction of bacteria with the use of electrophoretic activity, either the current chould be increased to 20 mA (!) or the duration of brushing should be prolonged to 15 hours (!).
