Abstrakt     Progress of radiology techniques in Jesenice hospital is described. Diagnostics evolution and changes in work organisation are annotated. The emphasis of this paper is on huge technology improvements, specially in the last third of Roentgen's century (i.e. 1895 till 1995), which enabled examinations techniques of today. First X-ray units were able to actively produce image in one half of examination time only. They had half phase rectifying circuits. Improvements followed. Full phase rectification was first step. Then, efficiency and resolution of X ray systems was in constant increase. In seventies systems with electronic picture amplifiers came on the market. Systems with CRT displays followed. Specialized diagnostics techniques were introduced in parallel: mammography, special angiography, special tomography, surgery radiology and computer tomography. Mobile X-rays units were put into service. Diagnostic quality and quantity changed radically. Today, only a few people could remember radiologist work conditions in first third of this century. Even yesterday was different from today.
