Abstrakt		Enteral nutrition by means of sound or a stoma is a most important medical achivemet that has been in use in paediatric hospital departments of many countries. It is a method conveying food direct in to the stomach or intestine in patients whose nutrion cannot be accomplished orally. Pediatric departements in Slovene hospitals have not been using the enteral nutrition to a satisfactory degree due to insufficient information and or lack of knowledge of the theory and the technique of the application. In her paper the author points out the basic theoretical knowhow essential in the field of enteral nutrition i. e. the enteral formulas the method of application, and the equipment required, as well as any complications and their prevention.
