Abstrakt		Hemorrhages in obstetrics and gynecology require immediate action, either for their severity or, which is even more freguently, for the fear that they might be the consequence of a gynecologic malignancy. The latter is particulary true for mild hemorrhages in whom there is the danger that they are not taken seriously. In severe hemorrhages, however, the severity of bleeding itself requires immediate help from the physician, often even before the patient reaches the hospital. The tirst step consists of an attempt to stop the bleeding, follows the prevention and/or controll of the shock and immediate transport to hospital. Immediately, the hospital team starts the treatment depending on the cause of hemorrhage. The treatment can be either medical or surgical.
