Abstrakt     There is now increasing evidence that coronary artery spasm plays an important role in the production of not only variant angina pectoris (1,2) but also other types of resting angina (3) and acute myocardial infarction as well (4). However, mechanisms by which coronary artery spasm occurs have not been elucidated. Several factors or agents which precipitate coronary artery spasm have been identified. These include exercise (5), cold (6), hyperventilation, alkalosis (7) and drugs such as methacholine (8), epinephrine (8), ergot alkaloids (9) and tromboxane A2 (10). Alcohol is frequently consumed in daily life and there is several case reports which show that attacs of variant angina are induced by alcohol (12,13). In our case report we represent a 47- years old pacient without known risk factors for coronary disease who survived a miocardial infarction a few hours after 0.5 L, 40 % alcohol ingestion. Coronarography three months later showed normal coronaries. We concluded that myocardial infarction could be result of alcohol induced coro- nary spasm.
