Abstrakt     In this article we intend to present transportatio of critically ill patient within the hospital with special emphasis on complications that may occur. The transportation has to be organised in such a way that as many complications as possible are prevented. Transport conditions have to be similar to the conditions in the ICU and for that experienced escort team and good technical equipmen have to be provided. Described art the cases of 46 critically ill patients who were transported from our ward to other parts of hospital in the first four months of 1998. Complications were medical (CPR, rhythm disturbances, patient s death, the need for IABP insertion) and technical (small impractical elevators, narrow doors and corridors, impractical hospital beds, not enough O2 pluggings, disconnection of O2 systems and IABP). The most important things when planning a transportation of a critically ill patient are good organisation and proximity of diagnostic wards (CT, MRI, cath lab...) because that reduces possibility of complications which can endanger the patient and worsen the outcome in general.
