Abstrakt | It is presented in this diploma thesis how long patients with fever cure themselves, what they do in case of illness, how ofen they look for professional help, who gives them a piece of advice concerning fever, what they consider is helpful for them, what would be harmful or which household remedy they already know and if they have already taken any antipyretic or antibiotic. I have collected data prospectively working with my patients and with patients of five other colleagues. The results evidentely show that all patients start to treat themselves without doctor's help. 84% of them take antipyretic before visiting a doctor. Paracetamol is the medicine which is used in most cases and then acetylsalycylic acid follows. Aspirin is a drug commonly used, but not by children. Most advice is given by relatives. Some people ask for professional advice. 20% of people ask for help doctors on duty. There are various kinds of tea, cold compresses, even raw potatoes put on feet used as household remedies. Different behaviour is shown with various ages, less evident according to education and there are no differences in sex. | |
