Abstrakt		With my thesis, I wish to clarify the problem regarding the entry of infectious and parasitic diseases into the Republic of Slovenia through the Transit Home for Foreigners (i. e. the reception centre for asylum seekers). In assesing the danger of the entry and the appropriateness of the preventive measures to be performed upon the admission of the newcomers to the Transit Home, it is necessary to establish the incidence as well as the type of these diseases from which foreigners suffered upon admission. The relevant information was obtained, from the medical record as written down after the first medical check-up at the Infirmary of the Trasit Home upon admission of foreigners. The lot of data I obtained in this way indicate that mostly infectious and parasitic diseases had not be detected on foreigners upon their arrival. The measures and the methods of work upon the reception of newcomers in the Transit Home are regard to the incidence of such diseases satisfactory in terms of preventing the entry of infectious diseases into the Republic of Slovenia.
