Abstrakt     The doctor must always be a student. For doctors continuing medical education is the best self control to their efficiently. The continual education also ensures better quality of their work. The appearance of new health problems demands a change in medical education, e. g. looking for new didactic methods which will make possible for doctors of general practice to confront with these new health problems. A hundred doctors were involved in the anonymous questionare. These doctors all worked in the primary health in 1994 in Slovenia. They were graded by their sex, age and accomplished specific training. There were several questions in the survey regarding: their favourite didactic methods, who was the payer of their medical education in 1992, which medical themes they prefer in their professional training and where they fill the lack of medical literature in the Slovene language. Most of the doctors attend at least one seminar per year. Pasive forms of education are prevailing. The main financial support for these seminars is given by their working organisations. The doctors of general practice has shown the real interest for the urgent cases in medicine practice. The questionare gives us a view on medical themes which are the main interest for the doctors of general practice and also shows us, where there is a lack of medical literature in the Slovene language.
