Abstrakt		Compound action potentials (CAP) were recorded from the excised sural nerve of rat in vitro after sprouting of nerves and after different kinds of anaesthesia. A study has been made about the modifcations of the compound nerve action potential of peripheral cutaneous nerve dependent upon the general anaesthesia and experimental preparation. The putpose of the present work was to relate the compound action potential of the sural nerve to some factors affecting its recording and to get an additional tool for evaluation of the sprouting of peripheral nerves. A significant effect of sodium pentobarbital anaesthesia was found. After establishing appropriate experimental conditions and procedures we were able to quantify modifications of CAP.
