Abstrakt     In our article we describe the usefulness of stents in the aorta and pelvic arteries. Through our own study we describe the method, possible complications and results of stent placement into pelvic arteries. We used a stent in 37 cases. Technical success was 97%, primary cumulative patency was 86% after one year, 82% after two years and 82% after three years. The patency rate is comparable with great world studies. There were twice as much complication rates in our study compared to wolrd studies (20% : 10%) but complications necessitating treatment did not differe (5.4% : 5.2%). We conclude that stent support a wider range of indications including extensive, calcified and ulcerated lesions, and has enhanced long term patency. We give some suggestions about use of stent in pelvic arteries.
Izvleček     V članku predstavljamo današnja spoznanja o uporabi žilnih opornic v aorti in medeničnih arterijah. Skozi našo študijo prikazujemo metodo, možne zaplete in rezultate žilnih opornic v medeničnih arterijah. Opornico smo uporabili v 37 primerih.
