Abstrakt		Stents are used for treatment of renal artery stenosis. Stent implantation improves the initial and also the long-term results of renal angioplasty. Due to the good results, high tehnical success, low rate of complications, restenosis rate and the excellent long term patency, stenting should be proposed routinely for ostial stenosis and complications of PTRA. At our institution, from January 1991 to December 1998, 20 patients were treated with 21 endoprostheses (16 Palmaz stents and 5 Strecker stents). All patients had a history of chronic hypertension that was resistant to intensive antihypertensive treatment. 10 patients suffered from renal insuficiency, 6 had also a solitary kidney. The indications for stent placement were in60% ostialstenosis, the others were after unsuccessful ballloon angioplasty with residual stenosis, acute dissection, chronic dissection. The mean follow up period for all the patients in our retrospective study was 20 months (range: 5-48 months). Clinical results were successful in 90%. We had 6 minor complications, which did not affect the clinical results.
Izvleček		Žilne opornice več let uporabljamo pri zdralvjenju zožitev ledvičnih arterij. Vstavitev opornic izboljša tako zgodnje kot dolgoročne rezultate renalnih angioplastik (PTRA). Zaradi dobrih rezultatov se opornice uporabljajo za zdravljenje ostialnih zožitev in zapletov po PTRA. V retrospektivni raziskavi smo ugotavljali učinkovitost in zaplete zdravljenja zožitev ledvičnih arterij z žilnami opornicami. Od januarja 1991 do decembra 1998 smo 20 bolnikom vstavili 21 žilnih opornic (16 Palmazovih in 5 Streckerjevih opornic). Vsi bolniki so imeli renovaskularno hipertenzijo, 10 bolnikov je imelo tudi oslabljeno ledvično delovanje, 6 od teh pa solitarno ledvico. indikacija za vstavitev opornice je bila v 60% ostialna zožitev, sicer je šlo za zaplete po TPRA. Ossemletno sledenje z 20-mesečnimi srednjim obdobjem (5-48 mesecev) je pokazalo, da je bila v 90% vstavitev opornice uspešna z ustreznim kliničnim rezultatom, ki se je pokazal z znižanjem krvnega tlaka oziroma izboljšanjem ledvičnega delovanja. V 30% je med posegom prišlo do manjših zapletov, ki pa na klinični rezultat niso vplivali.
