Abstrakt		The prevention of nosocomial infections in The General Hospital of Maribor is regularly practiced since 1989, under supervision of Hospital Infection Control Committee (HICC). The early activities of HICC were focused on edition of appropriate working instructions and protocols. However, two years ago, HICC has taken an active role in the prevention of nosocomial infections and has also become competent for infection surveillance of patients and for protection of health workers from infection and take care for their education about cross infections.
