Abstrakt		The monitoring of the hospital consumption of antibiotics contributes to a more rational use of antibiotics and can decrease the costs. It is necessary to analyse the pattern of prescribing the antibiotics in the hospital. The hospital should have a policy on therapeutic and prophylactic usage of antibiotics. An effective program for the control of the execution of the guidelines should be carried out. The continuous education is also important.
