Abstrakt		In the last few decades great attention eas devoted to the research work in the field of sport, also to the narrower area of sport for the people with spine damages. In Slovenia a series of researches related to the area of recreational sports activities of this group of people were carried out. The findings show that through well planned and systematic participation in recreationel sports activities it is possible to significantly tied to a wheelchair. Consecutively it is possible to affect positwely their health conditions. The findings of several years investtgation into sports recreational activity, socio-economic status of paraplegics has been improving gradually, the concern for their own health has been increasing. In the period investigated the number of participants in recreational sport increased which does not hold for women who stayed out of sports recreational currents. The results of the research in the segment of sports recreation also indicate possibilities of introducing sports recreational activities into early period of rehabilitation.
