Abstrakt     Ballroom dancing is known as an extremely popular recreational sports activity worldwide. It can be done independently of age. This study presents the results of heart rate (HR) values during the sequence of 5 standard and 5 Latin-American dances by dancers, which are over age of 45. Sample captured IS female and 12 male dancers, members of Ljubljanski plesni klub, which regularly practice dancing once a week. Heart rate was measured by measuring tool Polar PE 3000, first at female during 5 standard and 5 Latin-American dances, after half an hour break also at male dancers. Each dance lasted 2 minutes with an intermediate 1 minute break. For analyzing the data we used SPSS for Windows (Descriptives) and Polar Heart Rate Anslysis Software for Windows (Polar,1993). We obtained the following results: during 10 dances the heart rate varies in-between 130-180 beats per minute, which means a high level of intensity for this age group.
