Abstrakt     The article deals with urinary incontinence which is a relatively frequent female disorder. Undoubtedly, this diffuculty is associated with older age, although it may appear already in the active phase of woman's life, when she is still socially and professionally active. The following twelwe risk factors were observed: age, work, body weight, constitution, lenght of menstrual cycle, number of births, menopause, gyneacological surgeries, partial prolapse of the vagina and uterus, employment, education and health education. The purpose of this study was to determine the role of an individual variable in the occurrence of the phenomenon of urinary incontinence, with a special emphasis on weight, constitution and physical work. We demonstrate the health education of women in connection with urinaty incontinence and the troubles education of women in the sample were chosen at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology - the first group, and in the Health centre of Ljubljana - the second group. The object of the treatment were womwn who suffer from objectively proven urinary incontinence and those without this problem. The data are gathered from questionared from questionaries and from the medical documentation. The analysis was done by the chi-square test and factor analysis. With the chi-square test we achieved statistically significant results within the following variables: physical work, body weight, constituation, menopause and partial prolapse of vagina and uterus. In the factor analysis in both groups three factors were formed and explained almost half of the variance. The results show that predominantly older women, with overweight and strong osteomuscular constitution, those doing hard work, having a lower education and poor health education, suffer from the urinary incontinence. All the variables have statistically strong weight , i.e. over 0.30. (Abstract truncated at the 2000 characters)
