Abstrakt | This paper considers the physiotherapists' responsibility to all patients with regard to their continence status and goes on to outline the assessment of the female patient with a specific urinary continence problem? In the course of their daily work physiotherapists come into contact with a wide variety of patients, carers and colleagues. Physiotherapists, by virtue of their training, continuing study, and experience, have an ever increasing wealth of understanding of how to promote whole health and prevent breakdown of health. There are many aspects of whole health, but perhaps one of the most crucial is the continence status of a person. Few things cause more distress, embarrassment, social isolatton and discomfort than involuntary Ieakage of urine or faeces, or even fear of leakage. | |
