Abstrakt | The aim of clinical trials is to produce scientifically valid results thus, helping doctors understand a treatment's benefits and drawbacks. They can be used not only to understand new treatments, but also to determine new ways of using existing treatments. Currently, only statistical methods are being used in the process of understanding clinical trials and other medical problems in general. The purpose of this paper is to show how state-of the-art methods of artificial intelligence and machine learning in particular, can also be used for data analysis and interpretation. The later approach can be especially suitable in the case of clinical trials. This new methodology is a qualitative extension of the methodology that uses only statistical methods and its use is therefore, recommended in any clinical study. In this lecture, the artificial intelligence approach is worked through an example. | |
