Abstrakt		The article presents anatomic and histologic structure of menisci and their role for normal knee function. Different patterns of meniscal tears and their incidence are described as well as their clinical presentation, basic diagnostic steps and differential diagnosis. Authors point out importance of meniscal preservation. Different rehabilitation programs and probable future directions for treatment of meniscal injuries are presented.
