Jaundice is divided according to the site of the failure in the bilirubin metabolism into the pehepatic, hepatocellular and cholestatic jaundice. Diagnosis in the patient with the jaundice returning from the tropics is based on the history, clinical picture, laboratory findings and serologic tests. in the article is generally discussed diagnostic of the jaundice and several infectious diseases that can also include jaundice in their clinical picture after the patient's return from the tropics.
