Abstrakt     lnterventional endoscopy plays a key role in the diagnosis and management of peptic ulcer disease. With the development of endoscopic instruments and refined techniques of endoscopic hemostasis this treatment modality became the therapy of choice in patients with peptic ulcer bleeding.Endoscopic hemostasis has largely influenced surgical management and significantly reduced the mortality of these patients. Different methods of endoscopic hemostasis score similar therapeutic succes rates in the treatment of peptic ulcer bleeding, but recurrence of hemorrhage and the development of hemorrhagic shock still present alarming problems, especially among patients with risk factors. In this group of patients a timely decision on surgical intervention can decrease the mortality rate. The combination of endoscopic stigmata and clinical risk factors increases the accuracy of predicting individual risks in these patients.
