Abstrakt | Thoughts on the causes of contagious diseases have existed from days immemorial but they only became a reality with the development of microbiology in the 20th century. Among these ancestors was the Vinnese physician of Slovene parentage, Marko Anton Plenčič, a contemporary of the famous doctors and natural scientists J. A. Scopoli and C. Linne. Plenčičs book of essays has now been translated into Slovene. In it he discusses his thoughts on the causes of infectious disease and at its beginning speaks of contagion. | |
