Abstrakt     The paper presents the legal bases of the reporting of and screening for toxoplasmosis as stipulated by the Law on Communicable Diseases and the Instructions for the implementation of preventative health care at the primary level. The reporting of acute and acquired toxoplasmosis in Slovenia is insufficient. Only a few cases are reported from year 1990 to year 1999, which undoubtedly does not reflect the actual situation. The screening of pregnant women for recent infection with T. gondii has improved considerably in the Celje region. The percentage of seropositive women has decreased in recent years.
