Abstrakt     Toxicity of 3,4-methylene dioxymethamphetamine (MDMA, "Ecstasy") has become well known in the Coastal region of Slovenia due to its increasing abuse. Even at low doses, complications can be severe and fatal. In cases of intoxication, hyperthermia, disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), rhabdomyolysis and renal failure have been reported. Reported cases with all the above listed features tended to have a fatal outcome. Author described a case of intoxications with MDMA characterised with hypertermia and metabolic acidosis, rhabdomyolisis, renal and hepatic failure. We attribute good outcome in our case to the aggressive cooling measures in the first hours after the intoxication.
