Abstrakt     Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) is an uncommon inherited disorder of muscle metabolism that is triggered by potent gas anesthetic and the muscle relaxans succinylcholine. It can happen in any phase of the surgical procedure, most commonly in the recovery room. Mortality is high if the syndrome is unrecognized or treatment is delayed. Our aim is also preoperative evaluation and screening of those individuals at risk and thus prevention of triggering the event. The article presents the etiology and patogenesis of the syndrome, risk factors, clinical picture and acute and post acute phase treatment as recommended by MHAUS. A case report is also presented.
