Abstrakt		The distribution pattern of macrophytes in relation to the environmental conditions, particularly water chemistry, was studied in the Ižica River (Slovenia), a short lowland stream flowing through an agricultural landscape. The study revealed that species characteristic of nutrient-medium habitats grow in the upper part of the Ižica River. Species characteristic of nutrient-richer habitats and low current velocities are found more frequently in the lower part of the river. Physical and chemical analyses of the water and the distribution pattern of macrophyte species indicate that the Ižica River is moderately loaded with nutrients already at the source and that the concentration of nutrients increases downstream.
Izvleček		V reki Ižici, kratki, nižinski reki, ki teče v glavnem skozi kmetijsko obdelane površine, smo preučevali razporeditev makrofitov glede na okoljske dejavnike, posebej glede na kemizem vode. Raziskave kažejo, da uspevajo vrste, značilne za habitate srednje obremenjene s hranili v zgornjem delu reke. Vrste, značilne za s hranili bogatejše habitate in počasen tok vode, uspevajo pogosteje v spodnjem delu reke. Fizikalne meritve, kemijske analize vode ter razporeditev makrofitov kažejo, da je reka zmerno obremenjena s hranili že na izviru in da se obremenitev s hranili po toku navzdol povečuje.
