Abstrakt		This prospective randomised study was performed to compare the results of endoscopic polypectomy and endoscopic ethmoidectomy in combined treatment of 40 patients with massive bilateral nasal polyposis. The results showed that "simple" endoscopic polypectomy (64.71%) success rate) is therapeutically equivalent to endoscopic ethmoidectomy (72.22% success rate) when combined with the same intensive pre- and postoperative corticosteroid therapy. Our current combined approach is to supplement endoscopic polypectomy as the procedure of choice for the first surgical procedure, since it means fewer perioperative and late complications, a more comfortable course of postoperative recovery for the patient and a shorter rehabilitation period.
Izvleček		V prospektivni randomizirani raziskavi primerjamo uspešnost endoskopske polipektomije in endoskopske etmoidektomije pri kombiniranem zdravljenju 40 bolnikov z obojestransko masivno nosno polipozo. Rezultati nakazujejo terapevtsko enakovrednost samo polipektomije (64,71% uspeh) in polipektomije združene z etmoidektomijo (72,22 % uspeh) ob enakem intenzivnem pred- in pooperacijskem zdravljenju s kortikosteroidi. Predlagamo, naj bo v združenem terapevtskem pristopu prva operacija manj obsežen endoskopski poseg, ki je bistveno varnejši, zapleti so blažji in manj verjetni, potek je ugodnejši, pooperacijsko okrevanje pa hitrejše.
