Abstrakt		A large number of decision which refer to each individual, based on data which are stored with automatic processing. Data privacy is narrow connected with the following terms: collecting, processing and interference of personal data. Modern tehnology has raised all problems considering mentioned terms. 800 physicians took part in an anonymous questionnaire, carried out in 1988. Statistical characteristic of differences between two variables was established by x2 test. Statistical characteristic of sets of independent variables with relation to dependent one was established by multivariate analysis-logistic regression. As the results show, the majority of physicians are unified considering the opinion that data protection is important area in their each day work. Some physicians have still not adopted the attitudes considering the importance of mentioned area. In general physicians are not informed with European Directives, recommendations etc. For majority the data protection is something new in their work. Momentary the majority of physicians do not use personal computer. Those physicians who have personal computer use it for the purposes, like physicians in other European countries. Most of health care centres do not have Security Manual. Therefore the area of data protection is leave to individual interest and initiative.Those physicians who have personal computer predominantly do not use password. In compliance with the results master of science thesis also contents the proposal of document - Principles and guidelines of data protection within health informatics system. Its main task is to give a contribution to achieve the change of cultural approach considering use of personal data. Physicians and all other personnel must take care of the personal data in compliance with ethical, legal and other legal backgrounds which have been defined for that area within the Council of Europe and European Union.
