Abstrakt		The aim of our study was to establish and estimate side effects and tolerability when treating cats with terbinafine hydrochloride. Two different doses of the drug were given to 27 experimentally infected cats: 10-20 mg/kg SID and 30-40 mg/kg SID. We were monitoring the general condition of cats and we were performing CBC and biochemistry analysis. During the three months' treatment we established no alterations in biochemisty parameters using either lower or higher doses. The suppression of bone marrow was caused neither by the lower dose (10-20 mg/kg) nor by the higher dose (30- 40 mg/kg). However, we did notice sporadical mild gastrointestinal disturbances especially at the beginning of the treatment. Izvleček		Ugotavljali smo stranske učinke terbinafinijevega hidroklorida pri zdravljenju 27 mačk z eksperimentalno povzročeno mikrosporozo. Spremljali smo splošno počutje mačk in napravili krvne preiskave. Ugotovili smo, da zdravilo v treh mesecih zdravljenja ni povzročilo bistvenih odstopanj biokemijskih parametrov od normalnih vrednosti. Uporaba dveh različnih odmerkov zdravila (10-20 mg/kg dnevno ter 30-40 mg/kg dnevno) tudi ni povzročila supresije kostnega mozga mačk. Nekajkrat smo opazili blage želodčno-črevesne motnje, posebno v začetku zdravljenja. Raziskavo so podprli Ministrstvo za znanost in tehnologijo Slovenije, Novartis in Lek.
