Abstrakt		Complaints possibly caused by arrhythmias are frequently seen in general practice. However, only in one third of such patients arrhythmias are detected. Therefore, a family physician should recognize common arrhythmias, perform diagnostic tests and treatment when appropriate. If necessary, he should refer patients to a cardiologist and follow their progress regularly. The article deals with common arrhythmias in general practice and with general practitioner's tasks. It tries to separate general practitioner's duties and tasks From procedures, that are better and more safely performed by a specialist.
