Abstrakt | The prevalence of psoriasis in the developed countries is approximately 2%. Disease is present in different forms. Due to its resistance to medication and its long term duration psoriasis seriously affects the quality of life. An article presents the therapy of psoriasis with special highlight on anthralines. Anthralin has been successfully used as a antipsoriatic drug for decades but its mechanism of biological effect has not been explained yet. Research has been obstructed due to unexplained pathogenesis of psoriasis and the fact that the disease is known only in humans. Many studies and articles that try to shed light on the mechanism of the biological effect of anthraline have been published. Authors in most recent publications agree that the formation of 10-anthranil radical is crucial for the biological effect. The opinions is devided whether the 10-anthranil radical itself or its consequently formed se condary radicals i.e. active oxygen species are active. | |
Izvleček | Psoriaza-luskavica je bolezen, ki v razvitem svetu prizadene približno 2% populacije. Bolezen se kaže v različnih pojavnih oblikah. Zaradi svoje dolgotrajnosti in odpornosti na zdravljenje zelo poslabša kakovost življenja. Prispevek predstavi terapijo luskavice s poudarkom na možnosti, ki jih v terapiji luskavice nudijo antralini. Ditranol že desetletja uporabljajo kot uspešen antipsoriatik, vendar še do danes ni pojasnjen mehanizem delovanja. Raziskave mehanizma delovanja še dodatno otežuje nepojasnjena patogeneza luskavice in dejstvo, da bolezen prizadene samo ljudi. Opisanih je več študij, ki z različnih vidikov skušajo osvetliti mehanizem biološkega učinka ditranola. V literaturi se vse več avtorjev strinja, da je za biološki učinek odločilnega pomena tvorba 10-antranil radikala. Mnenja pa so deljena: ali deluje 10-antranil radikal sam ali pa posledično nastali sekundarni radikali oziroma spojine aktivnega kisika. | |
