Abstrakt		Fractures of the distal femur are mostly due to great direct and indirect forces. They are often accompanied by other injuries. The fractures need to be reduced and stabilized promptly. Biological fracture fixation procedures like supracondylar intramedullary nailing are being increasingly used.
