Abstrakt     Before giving health advice to the traveler, information about the traveler's health and about the exact travel plans has to be gathered. The vaccinations and the travel medical kit are then recommended. Malaria can be avoided by chemosuppression and by protection against mosquito bites. Travelers' diarrhea is the most common travel problem and can be prevented by safe food and beverage consumption. The measures against sexually transmitted diseases are abstinence or condoms. Due to high injury rate, the safety precautions at road traffic, at sports activities and at animal contacts have to be mentioned. The dangers of dehydration, the sun protection measures, the possible consequences of swimming or wallcing barefoot, and the problems of flying and high altitudes have to be discussed with the traveller. At last, the possible health problems after returning back home have to be pointed out.
Izvleček     Pred svetovanjem popotniku moramo dobiti natančne podatke o njegovem zdravstvenem stanju in o predvidenem potovanju.
