Abstrakt     On the basis of criteria on the conservation and threat status of birds in Slovenia and Europe (BRAČKO et al. 1994, DCWB 1979, TUCKER and HEATH I994)ž the author identified 25 species of the greatest conservationist significance among the breeders of Kozjansko Park (SE Slovenia). The species were divided into 4 groups: a) species of global conservation concern (Corn Crake Crex crex); b) species of conservationist importance for Slovenia and Europe that are abundant at Kozjansko Park and have reached a high share in the Slovene population (11 species: Stock Dove Columba oenas, Turtle Dove Streptopelia turtur, Wryneck Jynx torquilla, Grey-headed Woodpecker Picus canus, Green Woodpecker Picus viridis, Middle Spotted Woodpecker Dendrocopos medius, Common Redstart Phoenicurus phoenicurus, Common Stonechat Saxicola torquata, Collared Flycatcher Ficedula albicollis, Redbacked Shrike Lanius collurio and Corn Bunting Miliaria calandra; c) other highly endangered species in Slovenia (7 species); and d) species interesting due to their uncommon occurrence in Slovenia (6 species). Kozjansko Park is one of the most important areas in Slovenia for the species closely related to the habitat types of the extensive cultural landscape. Seven habitat types of the greatest significance for the protection of conservationally important species were identified: a) dry and b) wet meadows, c) mosaic-like extensively managed cultural landscape, d). traditional orchards, e) old forests, f) riverine habitats, and g) vertical sand banks. For each of them, the key threat factors and conservation guidances are given. The author made an analysis whether the Park fulfils the criteria for designation of IBA's and SPA's within its boundaries. The available data show that the Park fulfils the criteria for 4 IBA species (Wryneck, Grey-headed Woodpecker, Common Stonechat and Redbacked Shrike), and 2 SPA species (Grey-headed Woodpecker and Redbacked Shrike). Vrste sem razdelil v 4 skupine: a) globalno ogrožene vrste (kosec Crex crex); b) vrste varstvenega pomena za Slovenijo ali Evropo, ki so v Kozjanskem parku številne in dosegajo velik delež slovenske populacije (11 vrst: duplar Columba oenas, divja grlica Streptopelia turtur, vijeglavka Jynx torquilla, pivka Picus canus, zelena žolna Picus virždis, srednji detel Dendrocopos medius, pogorelček Phoenicurus phoenicurus, prosnik Saxicola torquata, belovrati muhar Ficedula albicollis, rjavi srakoper Lanius collurio in veliki strnad Miliaria calandra); c) druge v Sloveniji močno ogrožene vrste (7 vrst); d) vrste, ki so zanimive zaradi redkosti v slovenskem merilu (6 vrst).
