Abstrakt		The article describes the development, purpose and types of operations for patients with rheumatoid arthritis. Surgical intervention is part of the overall treatment, which is otherwise mostly conservative. The importance of cooperation among experts in the group led by the rheumatologist is emphasized. The most frequent surgical operations performed at different stages of the illness are described
