Abstrakt		Youth alcohol consumption and its related problems are a cause for concern in many European countries. Contemporary trends and patterns of youth alcohol consumption must be seen in the context of political, economical and cultural changes. In many countries alcohol has been incorporated into the culture of consumerism. Alcohol market follows trends of the youth cultures interest in alcohol consumption and harmful consequences are getting stronger. Politicians should advocate for and invest in the health and well-being of young people through implementation of Declaration on young people and alcohol.
Izvleček		Poraba alkohola med mladimi vzbuja skrb v mnogih evropskih državah. Sedanji trendi in vzorci pitja med mladimi zrcalijo spremembe na političnem, gospodarskem in kulturološkem področju. V številnih državah je alkohol postal del potrošniške kulture. Trg z alkoholom sledi povečanemu interesu za alkohol med mladino, škodljive posledice rabe alkohola pa naraščajo. Politiki se morajo zavzemati za in vlagati v zdravje in dobrobit mlade generacije, pri tem jim bo v pomoč Deklaracija o mladih in alkoholu.
